Tom A. Morgan's Obituary
Tom A. Morgan, 81, died at home on September 21, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born August 1, 1936, the son of Judge W. and Menty Little Morgan. He graduated from Oakboro High School and received degrees from NC State University and UNC Chapel Hill.
He retired from teaching after 30 years, mostly at West Stanly High School. A lifelong farmer, he was especially known for his knowledge of machine mechanics.
Tom is survived by his wife Annabelle Peeler Morgan, son Tom Adam Morgan, Jr. (wife Elizabeth), and grandchildren Jesse, Daisy, and Clara. Also surviving are sister Darlene Stamey of Mint Hill, brothers Dan Morgan of Albemarle and Judge Morgan, Jr. (wife Joanna) of Oakboro, and sister-in-law Betty Morgan of Midland, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Kemp and Ray Morgan, and brother-in-law Bill Stamey.
Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Morgan family. There will be no visitation or services at this time. In lieu of flowers or food, memorials may be made to Oakboro Regional Museum of History at P.O. Box 565 Oakboro, NC 28129. The family will be at the home at 10153 Richard Sandy Rd. Oakboro, NC 28129.
