Where does one start, with sharing memories of Tom? Every memory I have of Tom, still makes me smile, laugh, and eyes water. I met Tom 40+ yrs ago. I would see him walking down our gravel road, fishing pole in hand. I would throw little rocks at him to get his attention, and finally one day, he stopped and said, "hey kid, wanna go fishing!?" That's all it took to have some of the greatest experiences of my life. Tom was definitely the big brother I wanted. From riding horses, to camping for days, to fishing, and even getting a car stuck in a pond, I will always remember the times I had with him, because they were the best times of my life. Not sure he knew the impact he made on me as a kid, but it was huge. I will definitely miss him. I was fortunate enough to get to see him last year, and it meant the world to me. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, and extended family.

Tom always kept us laughing at Five Points. Being a server you get to meet people from all walks of life. Tom always came in smiling and ready to say something witty. The last time Tom came to Five Points, he hugged me bye. This was way out of the ordinary for him, as he had never done so before. I still don’t know why, but I will forever thank God for the last memory and the fun talks we all enjoyed when he would come to have dinner. Rest easy now big guy and watch over us. I’ll try to keep Robbie and Bart in line, but that’s definitely a big ask. You’ll forever have a seat at five points. Until we meet again! You live on!

Mr Tom was my first friend at the gym besides Mr Bart and Ms Brandi after my stroke! He picked with me made me feel comfortable and cheered me on even when I could only lift 2 lbs. We had the best conversation about health, staying positive, healing and he motivated me so much. I will always remember him and his big ol smile and hugs, even though our lives together was short he made a lasting impact on me and I could message him anytime and he would answer and help. I LOVE you Mr Tom and I’ll see you one day again until then out lift everybody in heaven 💜. As you can tell in the picture he always made time to talk to me I love him so

I just wanted to start with a little backstory. I am Tom’s youngest brother. We had the same father but we were separated by 20 years and different mothers. We have a rather large family and as such we didn’t all grow up together. I didn’t get blessed with this amazing individual until I was 26 in 2016 we started talking when I was 23. After our father passed away I finally got to talk with some of his side of the family. The best decision I ever made was to get on that bus and go to Colorado to meet him. For the first time in my life I met someone who actually looked like me. We were like bookends. He taught me how to dream and guided me through doing so. When I first came out he didn’t even bat an eye. I dare say he was proud to introduce me to people. The man was my rocky foundation that I have built myself upon. I truly wouldn’t be the person I am today without him. He will be forever sorely missed. The only thing I keep hearing in my mind is him daring me to take care of myself and strive for more. Not to settle for less and to give more. So I do the same I dare you to challenge yourself to something outrageous and memorable. Don’t settle for less and remember to give more. I love you all and thank you for honoring my brother Tom.

I remember being at Tom's lake house, when he first moved to Albemarle, NC. It was his Birthday celebration, and he was showing us his house. Most of the girls went upstairs to check out, Cae's bedroom, and we were talking and laughing, when Tom turned off the lights, and it was total darkness!! We screamed, it was like a bunch of kids, having fun, and playing pranks! Tom was definitely a one of a kind, and one of the sweetest, most gentle souls that I have met. He was so rugged and tough on the exterior, but inside, he was so kind and would do anything for anyone. He is an inspiration to so many who were fortunate enough to know him. I'm so glad that you are now in HEAVEN, and no longer fighting that battle with Cancer. You are at peace and totally healed, and no longer suffering. Until we meet again, my friend.
