Thomas Tom Mark Bales, 52, of Albemarle, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Due to Covid-19, a private memorial service to celebrate Tom will be held at a later date.Tom was born July 22, 1968, in Davenport, IA to the late James Malon Bales and Sally Ruth Williams Bales. He was a graduate of Pfeiffer University. Tom worked with the local Boy Scouts of America Council for several years and he loved his cats.Mr. Bales is survived by his sister Susan Bales of Carrboro, NC; brothers: Bruce Sullivan Bales (Margaret Keane) of San Francisco, CA, and James W. Bales (Elizabeth) of Boston, MA; nieces: Hana Hanley (Zach) of Pensacola, FL, Kim Chase (Jack) of Wichita, KA, Kate Bales of Portland, OR, Lindy Bales of Boston, MA; nephews: Bruce James Bales of Des Moines, IA, Charles Bales of Boston, MA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Kidney Fund at www.kidneyfund.orgStanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Bales family.
