Thelma E. Tyson's Obituary
Mrs. Thelma E. Tyson, age 97, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
A Graveside Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Lakeland Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Sonny Rogers and Brad Staples.
Mrs. Tyson was born on February 28, 1916, in Richmond County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late William Mack Estridge and Alberta Knight Estridge. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. "Bob" Tyson; one son, R. Lane Tyson; two daughters, Jeanette Funderburk and Nancy Baldwin; one grandson, Robert Chad Tyson; and one great-grandson, Zeb Wooten.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Hargett and husband, Don, of Monroe and her daughter-in-law, Janet Tyson of Monroe. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Tuesday (October 8, 2013) from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Davis Funeral Home; 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
