Ted Dwayne Williams, 80, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025.
A graveside service to honor his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Lakeland Memorial Park, with Pastor Terry Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Chapel.
Born on July 21, 1944, in Union County, NC, Ted was the son of the late James Floyd Williams and Lucy Price Williams. He was a dedicated member of Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church and spent over four decades working at Teledyne Allvac, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady leadership.
Ted had a deep love for the simple pleasures in life. He found joy in gardening—especially tending to his prized tomato plants—fishing, and working on cars and tractors. A fixture at Wayside Restaurant in Stanfield, he rarely missed his morning breakfast there, visiting six days a week. He was also a fan of classic television, with Bonanza being his favorite show, which he enjoyed watching regularly.
Known for his friendly personality and charm, Ted will be remembered as a hardworking, kind, and good-humored man who was devoted to his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Holshouser Williams, in 2013.
Ted is survived by his two sons, Todd Williams (Tabatha) and Ron Williams (Sherry), both of Monroe; his brother, Jerry B. Williams (Renda) of Oakboro; sisters Barbara Musselwhite of Monroe and Dale Kennedy of Elkin, NC; four grandchildren, Joey Williams, Terra Fuchs (Garrett), Nikki Williams, and Trey Williams (Kaley); and three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Williams, Evelyn Williams, and Aria Fuchs. He was preceded in death by a brother Jim Williams in 1977.
