Ted Ray Burnette's Obituary
Ted Ray Burnette, 86, of Midland passed away on Thursday May 4, 2023 in his home. His funeral service will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust Chapel with Rev. Tom Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow in Charlotte Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 AM-12:45 PM prior to the funeral service.
Born April 19, 1937 in Stanly County, NC he was the son of the late Flecus Alexander Burnette and Hattie M. Simpson Burnette. He retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System as a custodian at Independence High School. He loved horses, mules and wagon training. He enjoyed riding with the West Stanly Saddle Club and also rabbit hunting.
Mr. Burnette is survived by his wife Kay Marie Blackwelder Burnette of the home. Other survivors include sons Steven Ray Burnette (Elaine) and Richard Alexander Burnette both of Midland, a brother Wade Burnette (Darlene) of Monroe, NC, 2 sisters Ann Simpson (Larry) and Judy Eudy (Mitchell) both of Concord and one grandson Keith Vaughn of Midland. He was preceded in death by brothers John, Ikey, Charles, Clarence, Floyd, and Grady and sisters Lula, Faye and Mary.
