Sylvia Talbert Davis' Obituary
Sylvia Kay Talbert Davis, 83, of Albemarle, NC, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022 in Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center. Her funeral service will be 3:30pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Adam Hatley officiating. The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Stanly Gardens of Memory on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 1pm.
She was born September 18, 1938 in Stanly County, NC, to the late Carrie Talbert Almond. Mrs. Davis retired from E.J. Synders. Sylvia was the matriarch of her family, a strong woman raising six children. She loved watching soccer, baseball games, listening to music, Reeses Cups and Tuberose Snuff.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald “Reggie” Davis. She is survived by three sons, Ricky Davis ( Debbie) of Albemarle, NC, Darrell “Eddie” Davis (Cindy) of Oakboro, NC and Michael “Micky” Davis of Harmony, NC; two daughters, Debra “Debie” Sparks of Mocksville, NC and Susan Chamberlin (David) of Albemarle, NC; brother, Gene Talbert of Albemarle, NC; eleven grandchildren, Derek Davis of Albemarle, NC, Lindsay Fulk (Andrew) of Albemarle, NC, Alaina Gobush Lassiter (Jordan) of Albemarle, Amanda Brown (Marquise of New London, NC, Jacob Davis (Chelsi) of Lovettsville, VA, Tracy Huneycutt (Chris) of Albemarle, NC, Wendy Lilly of Salisbury, NC, Chris Kimrey of Albemarle, NC, Dana Wadsworth (Ashford) of Charlotte, NC, Jenny Thiel of Charlotte, NC and Tiffany Herlocker of Albemarle, NC; twenty-two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Sylvia is also preceded in death by a daughter, Alison Davis, a great-grandson, Aiden Davis and grandson, Shane Kimrey.
