Sybil Lackey's Obituary
Sybil Pegram Tucker Lackey passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025.
Sybil was the daughter of the late Ella Walters Pegram and Wayne Arthur Pegram, of Anson County NC. In 1959, Sybil married David Ronald Tucker. After Mr Tucker’s death, Sybil was married to William Dent Lackey, who also predeceased her.
She is survived by her daughter Angela Tucker, her son David Tucker and his wife Carla, grandchildren Meredith Webster and her husband Ryan, Evan Arnold, Bradley Thompson, Christian Thompson, Brittany Thompson, and Courtney Thompson. And Sybil is called Mama Sybil by her precious great-granddaughter Georgia Grace Webster. Also surviving are her sister-in-law Diane Yett and husband Charlie, niece Carla Griffin and nephew Lane Griffin.
Sybil had a special gift of ensuring everyone she met felt acknowledged and cared about. She loved the Tarheels, Braves, antiques and watching for snowfall every winter. She loved and decorated for every holiday. She was thoughtful and giving to family, friends and neighbors. Her strength and generosity could be counted on at any time. Sybil truly and completely loved her family, and that love was limitless.
We are thankful for this amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We will be inspired by her always.
