My most sincere condolences to the Smith family on the loss of Steve. I was Steve's Field Training Officer when he came to the Kannapolis Police Department, and worked with him for several years. Steve was a fine Officer and a great friend. I have nothing but fond memories of him. I know Steve is at peace in God's care. Peace and comfort to the Smith family during this difficult moment.
May the grace of God and the power of God bless and be near you during these days. May He
comfort you through His Holy Spirit and His Holy Word. Remember that He said, "And Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." I love you and am praying for you. Kinney Wallace.

Steven was a great person! Our prayers are with you all as you go through this very difficult time. Love you all!
Steven was a down to earth GREAT guy.
My condolences go out to this family. Mr. Smith was always a very kind man....I (we) take care of Max his Weimaraner at Colonial Animal. But I would always pick on Mr. Smith being a Duke fan and me being a Tarheel fan....he gave me heck for that. He will surely be missed.
