Steven Edward Akers' Obituary
Steven Edward Akers, 43, of Richfield, peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care in Albemarle. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the New London Cemetery, with Pastor Jeremy Blake officiating.
Born on November 11, 1981, in West Virginia, Steven was the beloved son of Danny Blaylock and Stephanie Ann Akers, who survive him. He is also lovingly survived by his children: Savannah Akers, Hailie Akers, and Steven Akers, Jr.; and by his cherished grandchildren: Aaliyah Boyer, Steven Woody, Jr., Serenity Woody, Anthony Woody, Silas Woody, and Nathaniel Akers.
Steven shared a close bond with his siblings and family, including his favorite sister Michelle Blaylock, his best sister Tonya Thompson, his favorite cousin Edmund Akers, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Shirley Beachum; grandfather Ed Akers; grandparents Madison and Freida Trent; aunts Linda Burnette and Lisa Bowen; and uncle Thomas Akers.
Steven worked in construction and was truly a jack of all trades. Known for his strength, artistic talent, and strong will, he could draw anything and was admired for his creativity. He was tough, stood his ground, and always made an impression wherever he went. He was also known to be quite the ladies’ man, full of charm and personality. Above all, Steven was a fantastic and devoted son, and he will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
