Laura, I received your Christmas card in the mail and stood in the kitchen and cried. I did not know of Steve's passing... and if I had I would have been there to support you and the children. My heart is completely broken - words cannot express how much the Troutman family means to me. I love you all so much and no other family holds such a special place in my heart.
Dear Laura and Family, Words are always inadequate, but somehow we search for something to say that will help you in this journey following a loss of such great significance in your life. We know you are comforted knowing that Steve is with our Heavenly Father for eternity and that you will see him again, yet you miss him terribly. That's only because you loved him so much, it hurts! What a blessing to know such love for one another, but it is also the reason it hurts so much. Some people live this life and never know such love, so Steve was a blessed man to be loved by you, your family, and so many friends. May God continue to comfort all of you and give you the strength you need for every day......He will because that is part of Who He is, our Comforter! Take good care and one day at the time!
Trying to think of where to begin. Our journey together started a little over three years ago when I first came to Highland Baptist Church. Steve has always been a great encouragement to me and a brother in Christ. His life showed me that if you work hard and love the Lord you can accomplish anything. We had wonderful conversations about the end times and what it would be like to see Jesus face-to-face.
Some of the greatest moments and happiest times was when I helped out on his farm. Helping me do things that I have never done before was a great joy to me. We had many laughs together along with his family. You will be truly missed my brother but I know one day you and I will see each other again. See you in the sweet bye and bye.
Steve has a wonderful life-story. He loved his God, His Family and others. His consistant positive attitude was an inspiration to me and a witness to everyone. I am so thankful for the brief time we had together. Other friends and neighbors continue to tell me stories of his kind and generous nature.
Family, what a blessing to know that he is now in the presence of our Mighty God and Creator. I am thankful for Steve and for your wonderful family. We all look forward to reuniting one day in Heaven. Until then I pray that his memory will continue to inspire others and point them to Jesus. Gods comfort and blessings to you all.

Steve was a fine man. His Bible studies showed his true heart and love for the Lord. He was a kind quiet soul who would help anyone. I wish more could have known Steve Troutman Prayers and Blessings to your family.
I am so very sorry to see this and even more sorry for your loss! I thought so much of Steve! He was my boss at Hydrolabs and he taught me so much! I have thought of him often and am just heartbroken to read this! God bless the family and I will be prating for strength! Sherry Rushing
