I'm honored to be Steve's cousin, friend and brother in Christ.
I didn't have the opportunity to spend much time around him, until I separated from the Army in 1973, having lived in Florida from the late 50's as a child.
We would visit and go to classes at Stanly Tech taking criminal justice classes together in the early 80's. We would talk about being overseas during wartime.
Steve always served others, valiantly for defense of his country and others, throughout his lifetime. He loved his family, and even after moving to Charlotte, we once again connected through the Drye reunions in Palestine.
I know God has gained and we have temporarily lost his fellowship for now.
I know and believe he dearly loved his family and was a blessing to his fellow man.
