Stanley Hugh Helms' Obituary
Stanley Hugh Helms, 81, of Albemarle passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Forrest Oakes. His funeral service will be at 2 PM Monday, January 6, 2020 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle with Rev. John Lindsay officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle.
Born January 14, 1938 in Union County, NC, he was the son of the late Vance Elbert Helms and Lena Edna Ross Helms. He attended Poplin?s Grove Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Alcoa. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Mr. Helms was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Ann Huneycutt Helms, Survivors include son Randy Helms and wife Brenda of Albemarle, brothers Vance E. Helms Jr. (Frances) of China Grove, Harry Helms (Cathy) of Concord, James Helms Sr. (Kristy) of Kannapolis and sisters Lena H. Gillon (Harry) of Mt. Pleasant and Sue H. Sullivan of Mt. Pleasant, 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and a niece Jennifer Correll (John) of Woodleaf, NC. A son Ricky G. Helms, a brother Kenneth D. Helms and a sister Brenda H. Webster all preceded him in death.
