Spencer James Rummage,'s Obituary
Spencer James Rummage, Sr., 91, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 in CMC Main. His funeral service will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel with Rev. David Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Stanly County DAV. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care on Monday, October 3, 2016.
Born July 2, 1925 in Stanly County, N.C., he was the son of the late George Nelson Rummage and Pearlie Mae Hinson Rummage. He was a carpenter and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rummage was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and a life member of the Stanly County DAV and also a member of the Stanly County Chapter of the American Legion.
He was married to the late Letha Mae Kimrey Rummage whom preceded him in death on September 22, 2005. Mr. Rummage is survived by two sons, Spencer J. Rummage, Jr. of Albemarle, and Harris Ray Rummage of Salisbury, N.C., a brother George ?Avery? Rummage of Albemarle, N.C., grandchildren Aleshia R. Harrison, Tina R. Mitchell, and John H. Rummage, great-grandchildren Madison G. Mitchell, Mia R. Mitchell, and Logan Rummage.? Mr. Rummage is preceded in death by his sisters, Hazel Rummage Lee, Nealie Rummage Waisner, and Maynolia R. Herrin; brothers, Grady Lee Rummage and Floyd Nelson Rummage.
