Shirley Wells' Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Wells, age 82, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services to Celebrate the Life of Mrs. Shirley Wells will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 15 2013, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 1003 East Franklin St., Monroe, NC 28112, officiated by Reverend Rod Yow.
Interment will follow in Price Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Davis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wells was born on September 4, 1930, in Nashville, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Paul W. Allen and Retha Allen. She was married to the late George William 'Bill' Wells.
Shirley was a homemaker and loved working in her flower garden. She was always ready for a trip to the beach and loved reading books. Shirley was talented with handiwork and skillled in cross-stitch as well as crocheting. With her fun-loving personality and quick wit, 'Granny' could always bring a smile on the faces of her friends and family. Her greatest love was spending time with her daughter,granddaughters and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Crook and husband Donny of Monroe, NC, granddaughters, Melissa Bordeaux and husband Jackson of Marshville, NC, Mallory Parker and husband Jeremy of Marshville, NC; great grandchildren Cameron Phillips, Bryson Parker, Conley Bordeaux, and Maci Parker, all of Marshville, NC; and cousins, Joe and Roselyn Baggett of Clarksville, Tn, and Todd and Edith Lightfoot of Marietta, Ga. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Pat Williamson of Charlotte, NC and Nancy Nash of Monroe, NC for their dedicated love and friendship.
