Shirley Phillips Smith, 86, of Albemarle passed away on Sunday May 26, 2024 in her home. Her funeral service will be 2 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel in Albemarle with Rev. Adam Hatley officiating. Read Obituary

Tammy, Craig and family, know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. May God grant you peace and comfort during this difficult time. Ms Shirley was one-of-a-kind, loving, giving and sharing with others. Although I didn't know her a long time, we seemed to hit it off when we met a few years ago. I enjoyed the weekly visits-we would talk and laugh and eat. I'm truly going to miss my friend.
My prayers go out to all the family of this beautiful lady. I am so blessed to have met her. She was an inspiration to me and all who knew her.
