Shirley Gordon Nance's Obituary
Shirley Gordon Nance, 82, of Albemarle passed away on August 2, 2023. Her funeral service will be 1 PM on Saturday, August 5, 2023 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Clapp officiating. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1 PM prior to the hour of the service.
Born September 24, 1940 in Union County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Manlis William Gordon and Gladys Helms Gordon. She retired from the Stanly County School System and was formerly an employee of Allisons Manufacturing and Metal Forge. She was of the Baptist Faith. She loved yard sales and dealing in antiques.
Mrs. Nance is survived by children Darrell Nance (Brenda) of Badin, Sheila Stichnoth (Rick) of Albemarle, Tim Nance (Sherry) of Albemarle, Emily Allen (Garry) of Polkton, Chuck Nance (LeAnn) of Albemarle, siblings Linda Spittle of Waxhaw, Rickie Johnson of Burlington, Gary Gordon of Waxhaw, 9 grandchildren Jessica Bolen, Tiffany Davis, Jennifer Nance, Heather Nance, Zachary Allen, Misty Allen, Allison Wise, Brad Sitchnoth, Amanda Nance, and 2 great grandchildren Tanner Kersey and Jade Bolen. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Davis and grandson, Chris Burris.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Taylor House, 319 Palmer Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Trinity Place and Gentiva Hospice.
