Shirley Y Howell's Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Y. Howell, age 61, passed away peacefully Friday morning in Marshville, North Carolina.
Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Shirley Y. Howell will be conducted at 12:00 PM Monday, October 29, 2018, at Davis Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Monday, prior to the funeral ceremony at Davis.
Shirley Ann was born December 20, 1956 to Duke and Amelia Yow of Monroe, North Carolina. She spent 37 loving years married to Gene Howell of Marshville, North Carolina.
She was mama to her three kids Valerie Helms (Eddie), Glenn Howell (Wendy) and Kelly Land (Noel) and a 2nd mom to many friends of theirs.
She was a loving and funny maw-maw to Kimberly Helms, Lacy Howell, Hunter Howell, Ryan Land, Evan Helms, Hannah Howell, Sara Kate Land, Madeline Hall, Samuel Hall, Chandler Hall and Colby Land.
She was also Sissy to her brother Lynn Yow and adoring aunt to her host of nieces and nephews.
Shirley Ann had an outrageous LOVE for her 4 legged babies Holly, Molly, Buddy and she adored butterflies.
We will miss her every day and her clockwork phone calls, to be a friend or loved by Shirley was to feel love and to know you always had someone in your corner. But we are sure of her glorious homecoming with her grandma Patti Craig was truly amazing. Until we meet again all of our love, hugs and kisses.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Howell of Marshville; two daughters, Valerie Helms and husband Eddie of Wingate and Kelly Land and husband Noel of Charlotte; a son, Glenn Howell and wife Wendy of Matthews; a brother, Lynn Yow and wife Amy of Monroe. There are 11 grandchildren.
Although flowers are appreciated, the family requests that memorials be made in Shirley's honor to the Union County Humane Society.
