The obituary that the Hatley family wrote is such a beautiful tribute to an amazing human.
My Aunt Sherry was a generous and free spirited soul. She showed her love with action rather than words. She would make brief stops at my parents’ house during my visits home to deliver a “little” okra from her garden (there were always pounds and pounds) or some other homegrown or homemade treat. She would send me photos of unusual birds that showed up at her feeders or in her yard. Summer Tanager, Red-shouldered Hawk, Wild Turkey, Red-headed Woodpecker, and the bird that I associate with her the most - Indigo Bunting. She found beauty and meaning in the living things that are easily overlooked by most. Aunt Sherry, you are sorely missed.
