Sherman Joe Drake's Obituary
Sherman Joe Drake,
74, of Locust passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Atrium Health
Northeast. His funeral will be at 3:00PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at
Hopewell Baptist?s Legacy Campus with Dr. Lee Pigg and Pastor Steve Sexton
officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00PM prior to the
service at the church. Burial to follow at First Baptist Church of Midland.
Born August
12, 1944 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Loma Mclain Drake and
Sherman Marshall Drake. Mr. Drake was a graduate of Bethel Highschool class of
1962 and retired as a machinist from Premier Machining Industries in Midland.
Sherman was an avid hunter and a member at Hopewell Baptist Church.
Sherman is
survived by his wife Lana Turner Drake of the home; son Reggie Joe Drake
(Karyn) of Midland; daughter Ginger Drake Crowell (Kent) of Indian Trial;
grandchildren Ryan Holt (Kelli) of Midland, Garrison, Landon, Anna, and Nathan
Crowell all of Indian Trail; great-grandchild Michael ?Drake? Holt; and
brothers Jerry Drake of Midland and Larry Drake of Locust. He is preceded in
death by his sisters Francis Drake and Becky Crayton.
