Shelley Renee Darnell's Obituary
Shelley Renee Darnell, 45, of Albemarle, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte.
A memorial service, officiated by Jason Linker, will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Stanly Funeral Home Chapel in Albemarle. The family will receive friends following the service from 4:30 until 7 PM.
Born on May 16, 1980, in Cabarrus County, Shelley was the daughter of the late Max Plummer and Linda Plummer, who survives her.
Shelley is lovingly survived by her husband, James Ryan Darnell, and their cherished children, Madison Paige Darnell and Jacob Dean Darnell. She is also survived by her brother, Jeremy Plummer; her nieces, Emma Plummer and Katelyn Plummer; her paternal grandmother, Carolyn Cress, aunt Billie Plummer, and cousins Josh Ferrier and Holly Plummer; all of whom loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Billy Daniel Plummer.
Shelley will be remembered as a devoted mother whose children were truly the center of her world. She had an energetic, fierce, and witty spirit that drew people to her. Her creativity shone through in everything she touched, and her incredible work ethic was unmatched. She had a natural green thumb and could make anything grow, filling her home and garden with life. Shelley was her mother’s best friend, known for her contagious laugh and for being the life of every gathering. Her presence brought warmth, fun, and light to those blessed to know her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at Atrium Health Main and to their many friends and loved ones who supported them throughout her recent illness.
