Shelia Luther Burris' Obituary
Shelia Diane Luther Burris, 72, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at her home. Her funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel in Albemarle. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. There will be no formal visitation.
Mrs. Burris was born February 26, 1948 in Stanly County, NC, the daughter of the late Reid Dolan Luther and Ramelle Thompson Luther. She was a retired nurse with Stanly Regional Hospital and an instructor with Montgomery Community College. Shelia was a member of First Baptist Church of Albemarle.
Shelia was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Suttles Burris on January 26, 2020. She is survived by a daughter, LeAnne Burris Callahan and husband Todd of Fuquay Varina, NC and a grandson Sean Patrick Callahan of Fuquay Varina, NC; two sisters, Sharon Luther McSwain and Margaret Luther Barrett both of Stanly County.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and The Uwharrie, 960 N. 1st Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
