Shearon Van Efird's Obituary
Shearon Van Efird, 82, of Albemarle passed away on December 19, 2024 in The Greens at Cabarrus. His funeral service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Saint Martin’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Rev. Phil Thorsen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle on Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
Born July 24, 1942 in Stanly County, NC he was the son of the late Lexter Lee Efird and Ida Ree Mabry Efird. He was retired financial advisor with Woodbury Financial and a former manager of Stanly Ace Hardware. Shearon was a member of the NC Air National Guard 263rd Combat Squadron. He was a graduate of Endy Highschool, class of 1960 and a graduate of King’s College with a degree in accounting and retail management. He was a UNC Fan and loved to watch Carolina Basketball.
Mr. Efird was preceded in death by his wife Lynda Nance Efird in 2002. He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Allen Efird of the home, a brother Delane Efird and wife Debbie of Charlotte and a nephew Troy Efird and wife Ariel of Charlotte and their children Landon and Grant. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Brenda King and husband Dick and Sarah Horne and three special nieces Stephanie Gray, Meredith Marchena, and Amanda Roath and their families. He was preceded in death by brothers Billy Efird and Earl Efird.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Keeley Caudle and Anita Thompson for the love and care they showed to Mr. Efird.
