Sharon Smith Starnes' Obituary
Sharon Smith Starnes, 73, of Locust passed away on September 29, 2023 in Atrium Health Cabarrus. Her funeral service will be 3 PM Tuesday at Providence Church of God with Rev. Jerry Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust from 6 until 8 PM.
Born April 10, 1950 in Cabarrus County, NC she was the daughter of the late Luther P. Smith and Marie Whitley Smith. She retired as Assistant Manager of First Bank and was a member of Providence Church of God.
Mrs. Starnes is survived by her husband of 54 years, Paul Starnes Jr. of the home. Other survivors include four children Paul Starnes III (Chassidy) of Oakboro, Phillip Starnes (Melanie) of Locust, Preston Starnes (Lisa) of Albemarle, Patrick Starnes (Joanna) of Charlotte, brother Michael Smith, 13 grandchildren Anna Marie Starnes, Paul Starnes IV, William Starnes, Megan Starnes, EmmaLee Starnes, Ashton Starnes, Gavin Starnes, Colten Starnes, Luke Starnes, Mason Starnes, Patrick Starnes Jr., Noah Starnes, Jacob Starnes.
