Sarah Eunice Mauldin Swaringen, 90, of Albemarle passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 in Trinity Place, Albemarle.? Her funeral will be 3 PM Sunday, March?6, 2016 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Little and Rev. Nathan Fox officiating.? Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory.? The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 2 until 3 PM prior to the hour of the service.
Born Sept. 20, 1925 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Mauldin and Nora Belle Scott Mauldin.? She graduated from Aquadale High School and was a retired employee of the Wiscassett Hosiery Mill and was a former of employee of Allison?s and Knitsters.? Mrs. Swaringen was a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Horace Filmore Swaringen on Feb 12, 1982.? Survivors include Chief Master Sgt. (Ret.) Kenneth E. Swaringen and wife Ginger of Albemarle, daughter Betty Ruth Swaringen Negley and husband Ed of Charleston WV, grandchildren Betsy Negley, Meredith Hatley and James Negley and wife Cindy.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Gideons, Stanly North Camp, PO Box 585, Albemarle, NC 28002, Community Hospice, 1024 Albemarle Rd., Suite 904, Tory, NC 27371?or to Silver Springs Baptist Church, 16072 NC Hwy 138, Norwood, NC 28128.
