Sarah Hill Swan's Obituary
Sarah Kathleen Hill Swan, age 88 of Albemarle, N.C. passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at her home.? Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, November 9, 2015 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Delane L. Burris officiating.? Burial will be in the Palmerville Baptist Church Cemetery.? The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the service.
Mrs. Swan was born on July 18, 1927 in Stanly County, N.C. to the late John Robert Hill and Sara Corinna Snuggs Hill.? She was a secretary with Helms Motors and a member
of Central United Methodist Church, but attended Grace Baptist Church.? She worked as a volunteer with Stanly Memorial Hospital for 40 years.? Mrs. Swan was extremely friendly, family caretaker, encourager, selfless, a giver and she loved life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Edward Swan and a special friend Dent ?Tuggy? Hall Turner. Also preceded her in death was a son, Donald Wayland Swan, brothers, John, Donald and Alvin Hill and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Cutrell and Polly Marie Speight.
Survivors include a son, Robert Edward Swan, Jr. and wife Pamela of Montgomery, TX, daughter-in-law, Susan Swan of Charlotte, N.C., a brother, Robert Calvin Hill of Badin, N.C., two sisters, Sandra Kay Riley and Teresa Ann Bunting both of Albemarle, N.C. one stepson, William Hale Swan and wife Nancy of Mt. Gilead, N.C.? seven grandchildren, Shelley Mason, Wesley Swan, Brady Swan, Patrick Swan, Dylan Swan, Eddie Swan, and Ellen Swan, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and also many nieces and nephews.
