Mrs. Sarah Evelyn Newsome, age 96, of Marshville, NC, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021, at Autumn Care of Marshville. A private graveside service to honor Sarah's life will be held at the Godwin Family Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Joey Query.Sarah was born July 20, 1924, in Union County, NC, a daughter of the late Jim Thomas and Eliza Godwin Thomas. A homemaker who loved children, Sarah looked after her nieces and nephews throughout their childhoods. She also enjoyed quilting and gardening - especially her flowers.Left to carry on Sarah's memory are 11 of her nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Newsome, her brother, Benton Thomas, her sister, Fettie Williams, and three nephews; Ted Williams, Ned Williams, George Michael Williams.Davis Funeral Service is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Newsome.
