Sandra Carter Helms, 62 of Southport passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center.? A graveside service to honor her life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in the Lucy Helms Cemetery in Monroe, NC with the Rev. J. B. Helms Jr. officiating.? The family will greet friends at graveside from 1:30 until 2 PM.
Born June 17, 1954 in Monroe, NC, she was the daughter of the late Cletus Hinson Carter and Darrise Naomi Caskey.? Mrs. Helms worked as a personal chef.? She practiced the Christian Faith and she was a veteran of the US Army.
Mrs. Helms was preceded in death by her husband Michael Wayne Helms.? She is survived by her daughter Darrise Cloud Hogan of Southport, grandson Cory James Street of Southport and brother Mark Wayne Carter.?She was also preceded in death by five brothers.
