In a farmhouse behind the Porter Baptist Church near Norwood, Ruth Hopkins Wilhoit was born 102 years ago. She died at her home in Albemarle early Sunday morning, Oct. 28. The youngest of 21 brothers and sisters -- who nicknamed Read Obituary
Our prayers for the family of Ruth Wilhoit. We are next door neighbors of Hannah Boston. Ruth became out adopted Grandmother after many fine visits to Cary, NC. She loved to walk in our garden and tell stories of her childhood. We miss her!

Ruth was my great aunt, my mother is Juanita Hopkins Cagle, She is the daughter of Tommie Hopkins brother to Aunt Ruth. I remember Ruth and Grover coming to visit Tommie and Lillie Bell, my grandparents. Grover was always picking and running on with some kind of mischief. There sat Aunt Ruth quiet as a mouse. As a child I often wondered how two people so different could be so happy. But I know there has been a great and happy reunion in heaven, one that can only take place if you know Jesus as your Saviour. Aunt Ruth was a prayer warrior, I will miss hearing her say, "I will be praying for you and your family." with much love, thoughts and prayers.

Ruth was my great aunt. My mother was Pauline Hopkins Thomas (who was Harvel & Agnes Hopkins' daughter). I am so sorry to hear about her passing but know she is with the whole family celebrating. Praying for the family during this difficult time.
