Ruth Dennis Smith's Obituary
Ruth Eudy Dennis Smith, 92, of Albemarle, NC, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Spring Arbor of Albemarle. Her memorial service will be 11 AM Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel with Rev. Ken McRae officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunn?s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. ?The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation care for an hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Smith was born February 15, 1925 in Stanly County, NC and was the daughter of the late Grover and Alice Burris Eudy. She was a former employee of Wiscassett Mills of Albemarle and United Mills of Mt. Gilead, NC. Ruth was a member of Stoney Fork Baptist Church of Mt. Gilead, NC.
Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband Melvin Dennis and second husband Jerry Smith. Survivors include two sisters Nellie Eudy Hearne and Mildred Eudy McRae, two daughters Sandra Dennis Serria of Houston, Texas and Kristie Smith Tindall of Decatur, IL, daughter-in-law Sharon Smith of Mt. Gilead, stepson Ronnie Smith of Albemarle, NC, two stepdaughters Kaye Smith Roberts of Mt. Gilead, NC and Jean Smith Warner of Concord, NC, eleven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a stepson David Smith, stepdaughter Ann Smith, brothers Lonnie Eudy, Charlie Eudy, Paul Eudy, C.A. Eudy, James Eudy, Fred Eudy, Ralph Eudy, Dewell Eudy and Claude Eudy and sisters Mary Whitley, Belle Jarman and Bessie Clayton.
