Ruth Cauthen Senn's Obituary
Ruth Cauthen Senn, 82, of Locust, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Atrium Health Stanly, Albemarle, NC. She was born on February 15, 1941, in Charlotte, NC, to the late Evangeline and John Z Cauthen.
Ruth grew up in Charlotte and was in the last graduating class of Central High School in 1959. She met the love her of life, Earle, at the age of 22 and was married in less than three months. Soon after, she became a mother of two. She was a wonderful mother, making many sacrifices over the years. She was even a second mother to many a neighborhood child. To them she was just “Mama Ruth.”
Ruth worked in many places throughout her life and wore many hats. For a while her and Earle had a horse farm with 27 stalls. She loved going to the beach with the whole family. Family meant a lot to her. She had the gift of gab and never met a stranger. Ruth was a gregarious person and enjoyed everyone’s company. She always had the excitement of a child and was loved by all. She was small in stature but had an overwhelmingly big heart. If you ever met her, you would never forget her. Most of all, she had a deep-rooted relationship with Jesus Christ and shared her faith with anybody that would listen.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Earle Senn, Jr. She is survived by her son, Wiley “Chip” Senn, III, and his wife, Tonia of Albemarle, NC, daughter Melissa Senn Kirk and husband Steve of Locust, NC, grandchildren, Leah Jordan of Waynesboro, VA, Chase Couick of Stanfield, NC, Bruce Pylant of Locust, NC, Joe Doiron of Little Axe, OK, greatgrandchildren Abigail Jordan, Gracelynn Jordan, Kameron Farris, Abby Farris, Rebel Doiron, and Dixie Doiron. And we cannot forget her loving dog, Peanut.
Visitation will be held 12:00PM – 12:45PM on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care in Locust, NC. The funeral will follow at 1:00PM at the same place. The graveside will be at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle, NC. Pastor John Stephens will be officiating.
