Ruth Ellen Blanton's Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Ellen Rich Blanton, age 77, of Monroe, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews.
A Service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 7:00 PM Monday, November 18, 2013, at Bible Baptist Tabernacle Church, officiated by Reverend Bobby Leonard and Reverend Kenneth Faulkenberry. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Lakeland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Blanton was born on June 15, 1936, in Burke County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Renus E. Rich, Sr. and Annie Cook Rich. She was a homemaker.
She was a precious wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family dearly. She was a faithful pianist in her church for over 50 years. She loved to sing the praises of the Lord. Content with these things, she led a full life. Never one to complain, she modeled Christian grace of scripture...Philippians 4:11, "For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content".
Mrs. Blanton is survived by her husband, Reverend Wayne William Blanton of the home; one son, Ronnie Blanton and wife, Teressa, of Conover; one daughter, LeAnn Kee and husband, Barry Kee, Sr. of Monroe; five grandchildren, Amy Chandler and husband, Richard, Randy File and wife, Jennifer, Dawn Burris and husband, Jason, Barry Kee, Jr. and wife, Paula, Joshua Blanton and wife, Sara. There are also six great-grandchildren, Justin Chandler, Kierstin Chandler, Dawson Burris, Trenton Burris, Ethan Blanton, and Billy Kee. She is also survived by a brother, Renus E. Rich, Jr. and wife, Peggy, of Winston-Salem.
The family will receive friends Monday night (November 18, 2013) from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Bible Baptist Tabernacle Church at 2900 Walkup Avenue in Monroe.
