Ruby Forrest Lambert's Obituary
Ruby Juanita Forrest Smith Lambert, 93, of Richfield, NC, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Atrium Health Stanly. Her celebration of life service will be 11 am on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Lowe and Mr. Gavin Smith Whitley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 in the church sanctuary prior to the service. The family request that social distancing protocols be followed and mask are requested.
Mrs. Lambert was born May 14, 1928 in Stanly County, NC to the late W.F. Forrest and Bessie Hubbard Forrest. Ruby was a graduate of Richfield High School in 1945 and then attended Morgan’s Business School. Mrs. Lambert formerly worked for Attorney’s W.L Mann and T. Burt Mauney and she retired from Home Savings Bank. She was a charter member of Highland Baptist Church, where she was active with the Senior Citizens and she held many different positions for over sixty seven years. Ruby was a volunteer with Hospice of Stanly County and volunteer of the year in 1998, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of the Stanly County Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Lambert is preceded in death by her first husband, James Harding Smith and second husband, Curtis Lambert. She is survived by a son, James F. Smith (Linda); a daughter, Jahala S. Hearne (Lyn); four grandchildren, Angela Bjorklund (Wes), Stephania Morton (Tim), Blair Smith and Heather Aram (Jim); seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by a son, Bobby G. Smith, two sisters, Mae F. Loflin and Mary F. Lowder and one grandson, Damon F. Smith.
