Ruben Velazquez's Obituary
Mr. Ruben Velazquez, age 74, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at his residence.
Funeral Mass to celebrate his life will be conducted at 5:00 PM Friday, May 20, 2016, at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, 725 Deese Street, Monroe, NC, 28112.
Mr. Velazquez was born on January 8, 1942, in Puerto Rico, a son of the late Jose Velazquez and Milagro Matos Velazquez.
He was a bus driver for MTA in New York City for many dedicated years.
Survivors include his wife Celida Velazquez of the home; his two sons Christopher Velazquez of Monroe, NC and Ruben Velazquez, Jr. of Strasburg, PA; and his daughter Celida Milagro Velazquez of Tampa, FL; there are two grandchildren.
