Rose Ann Thompson's Obituary
Rose Ann Thompson, 91, of Albemarle passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 in Stanly Manor.? Her funeral service will be 11 AM Monday in Canton Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Mabry officiating.? Burial will follow in the church cemetery.? The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 until 10:30 prior to the hour of the service.
Born March 8, 1925 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Adam Hatley and Emma Isabell Huneycutt Hatley and was a homemaker.? She was a member of Canton Baptist Church where she was active in many aspects of church life when her health permitted.? She enjoyed crafting and was an excellent cook.? The great joy of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Hewitt Thompson.? Survivors include son Doug Thompson and wife Pat of Locust, brother Dave Hatley of Albemarle, granddaughters Dorrie Webster of Albemarle, Jennifer Huneycutt of Lexington SC, and Katie Guyette of Albemarle, 12 great-grandchildren and 8 great-greatgrandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to Canton Baptist Church, 24615 Endy Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001.?The family would also like to thank all the employees of Spring Arbor and Stanly Manor for all their love and care.
