Ronald ?Ronny?
Frederick Watkins, 68, of Locust passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 at his
home. A graveside service will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery Friday,
December 20, at 10 AM with full military honors.
Born
November 22, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA he is the son of the late William Harvey
Watkins and late Catharine Vay Flowers.
Mr. Watkins
is survived by his wife, Leslie Flores Watkins of the home, daughter, Christie
Hires (Stephen) of Keller, TX, stepdaughter, Deana Zost (Carey) Mansfield, TX,
and stepson, Isaac ?Trey? Tucker, III of San Diego, CA. Other survivors include
his grandchildren, McKenzie Martinez, Kylee Hires, and Sam and Hannah Hopkins,
brothers, Robert Watkins of Rossville, GA, Johnny Watkins of Lawrenceville, GA,
Stanley Watkins of Tybee Island, GA, and Patrick Flowers of Spring Lake, NC,
and sisters, Janice Jarrett and Patricia Russell of Hendersonville, NC and
Betty Blue of Prosper, TX.
Ronny was a
US Army veteran having served in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart. He
retired from the NC Department of Transportation as a Maintenance Supervisor.
