Ronald ?Ronnie? Hatley's Obituary
Ronald Franklin ?Ronnie? Hatley, 60, of Albemarle passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at CMC-Main, Charlotte.? His funeral service will be 3 PM Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Salem United Methodist Church.? Burial will follow in the church cemetery.? The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care on Saturday evening from 6 until 8 PM where the body will remain until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of service.
Born October 11, 1957 in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Jennings and Gaye Sides Hatley.? He was a Control Operator with Duke Energy at Buck CC in Spencer, NC.? Ronnie enjoyed life and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.?? He was a life-long member of the Millingport Community which he loved and served through over 30 years of service as a member of the Millingport Volunteer Fire Department.? Ronnie enjoyed camping with his family and friends and enjoyed watching Drag Races.? He was also a talented musician.
Ronnie was married for 30 years to the love of his life Janet Brown Hatley.? In addition, he is survived by three daughters, Michelle Hicks (Aaron) of Concord, Jacquelyn Barrier (Blake) of Mt. Pleasant and Lauren Cooper (David) of Albemarle, brother Tim Hatley (Lisa) of Albemarle, 5 grandchildren Colby, Landon, Jake, Brooklyn and Lawson, and his faithful companions Max and Lucy.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Stanly County Humane Society, 2049 Badin Rd., Albemarle, NC 28001 or to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 191 Waukegan Rd, Northfield, IL 60093.
