Ronald "Ron" Cook's Obituary
Ronald Allen ?Ron" Cook of Albemarle, North Carolina passed away on September 1, 2020.Mr. Cook is predeceased by his father Floyd Allen Cook and his mother Jolene Efird Cook.
Mr. Cook graduated from North Stanly High School in 1968 and went on to earn a BS at Steed College. He played football for the Stanly County Patriots and was an Eagle Scout. He worked for many years as a US mail carrier, and was a very active member of Albemarle First Assembly Church where he was an usher and served on the advisory board. Mr. Cook enjoyed gardening and giving away what he raised, tending to cows and hunting.Those left to mourn his loss are his beloved wife Sharon Hill Cook who he married on December 29, 1984. Together they had one daughter Kristen Cook Walden (Gavin) of Pinehurst; a brother David Cook of Albemarle; a sister Jan Davis also of Albemarle and his mother-in-law Mrs. Lovell Hill of Albemarle.Visitation will take place on Friday, September 4, 6:00PM-8:00PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care, Albemarle. Mr. Cook?s service will take place Saturday, September 5 at 11 AM at Albemarle First Assembly Church of Albemarle. Rev. Nate Drye and Rev. Robert Gruver will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 4530 Park Rd #240, Charlotte, NC 28209 and Albemarle First Assembly Church, 1501 NC 24 27 ?W, Albemarle, NC 28001.
The family respectfully request that all visitors wear masks and use social distancing during the visitation and funeral service of Mr. Cook.
