Romie "Tarp" Morgan's Obituary
Romie "Tarp" Avin Morgan passed away at his home on June 23, 2021 at the age of 89.
Mr. Morgan is predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Jane Morgan, grandson Nicholas Morgan, and son-in-law Doug Love.
Mr. Morgan is lovingly remembered by Son Ronnie Morgan (Tammie) of Locust, Son Larry Morgan (Lisa) of Oakboro, and Daughter Renee Love of Stanfield. Grandchildren Crystal Harrison (Nathan), Trent Morgan (Alesha), Jessica Little (Travis), Matthew Ferrell (Tiffany), Landon Ferrell and 7 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Morgan was born in Stanly County on August 3, 1931. He worked as a manager at Gambles Supermarket in Frog Pond and was a lifelong plumber. He was a member of Love's Chapel United Methodist Church. Romie enjoyed playing golf, riding bikes, spending time at the beach with family, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Union Masonic Lodge 618.
The visitation will be held at Love's Chapel United Methodist Church from 1 until 2 PM on Friday, June 25, 2021. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM at the church with Rev. David Lowe and Rev. Jim Allred officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
