Rodger Gene Slack's Obituary
Rodger Gene Slack, age 81 passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 at his home in Albemarle, N.C. His memorial service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Harry Harwood officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Mr. Slack was born June 28, 1934 in Stanly County, N.C. to the late Oren ?O.D.? Daniel Slack and Lena Belle Frick Slack. He attended North Albemarle School and was co-owner of S & S Saw Service, Inc. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a well known auto mechanic.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Burleson Slack of the home, one son, Rex Greg Slack and wife Gina of Albemarle, N.C., one daughter Cherri Slack Barringer and husband Ty of Richfield, N.C., one brother, Mickey Slack of Marshville, N.C. one sister Kathy Slack Rollins of GA, three grandchildren, Ashley Stamper, Andi Craig, Rachel Slack and one great-grandchild Kyleigh Stamper.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. 1st Street Albemarle, N.C. 28001
