Robert Lee "Bob" Murphy's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Lee Murphy went to be with the Lord the morning of Tuesday, November 21, 2023. He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Byrd Murphy of 63 years. Bob was born in Friendship, OH, and resided in West Portsmouth, OH until he and Paula moved to North Carolina in 1987. He served his country in the United States Army from 1960-1963 where he received an honorable discharge. Bob enjoyed spending his free time working in the yard, and being surrounded by family. Bob loved his church, his church family, and serving the Lord.
He is survived by his children, Christopher Lee Murphy (Jackie), Brian Edward Murphy, Pamela Sue Murphy Strong (Ron), and John Wesley Murphy (Sara). Stepsister, Jeanie Murphy Porter (Charlie, deceased), Lynn Murphy Killigan (Bobby) StepBrother, Bruce Murphy (Darlene), Grandchildren, Rachel Nicole Murphy, Sandra Jo Boyd (Michael), Benjamin Lee Strong (Hailey), Christian Lee Murphy (Kaci), Joshua Murphy Strong, Victoria Rachelle Murphy, and Katelyn Michelle Murphy. Great Grandchildren, Ella Grace Strong, Madylin Nicole Strong, Ryder Lee Murphy, Bentley Jackson Strong, James Alexander Boyd, and John Thomas Strong, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Chester Lee Murphy, Mother, Pearl Shelby Turner, Stepmother, MaryLou Murphy, Brother, Eugene Murphy (Eunice), Baby sister that passed after birth, Brother in law, Charlie Porter and Daughter in Law, Jodi Lynn Murphy.
Funeral Service will be held at McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, Ohio, with burial service at Rush Township Cemetery in Rush Town, OH with Military Honors.
