Robert Vest Childress III, 45, of New London, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at his home. His service will be Saturday, August 29, 2015, 2 PM at Richfield Park with Rev. Barry Kemp officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Richfield Park.
Born November 6, 1969 in Forsyth County, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Vest Childress II and Debbie Stewart of Winston Salem, NC. He formerly worked in the dietery department at Pfeiffer University. He also formerly worked at Hwy. 49 Sporting Goods in New London, NC.
Mr. Childress was married to Debbie Jean Melton Childress of the home. Other survivors include two sons: Zachary Childress of Lexington, NC and Justin Plowucha of Washington State; one step-son, Jacob N. Kearns of New London, NC; one daughter, Dominique Childress of Washington State; one step-daughter, Elizabeth M. Kearns of Richfield, NC; mother-in-law, Janet Gail Huneycutt of Richfield, NC; three brothers, Chris Childress of Winston Salem, NC, Timothy Davis of Villa Rica, GA and Kinsey Childress of Walnut Cove, NC; two sisters, Misty Childress of Winston Salem, NC and Linda Melton Jones of New London, NC; and a special niece, Raylin Shae Tucker of Albemarle, NC.
