Robert "Bob" Burton's Obituary
Robert Lee Burton, 76, of New London passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
His funeral service will be Monday, March 18 at 11 AM at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care in Albemarle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 10:45 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Centerview Baptist Church Cemetery in Albemarle.
Born December 3, 1947, in Boyd County, Kentucky, to the late George and Ruby Burton. Mr. Burton is lovingly survived by his wife, Dianne Honeycutt Burton of the home. He is also survived by sons; Terry Burton (Stephanie) of Mt. Pleasant, NC, and Robert Burton (Kim) of Rockwell, NC.
He is also survived by a brother; David Burton (Joy) of Ashland, KY, seven (7) grandchildren and eleven (11) great-grandchildren.
Mr. Burton is predeceased by a son, Dallas Burton, and two sisters, Donna Day and Marsue Adkins.
Mr. Burton was a proud veteran of the US Army and retired as a Design Engineer with IBM.
He was a great Husband, Dad, Grand papaw and Great-Grand papaw and will be missed by all.
Mr. Burton was a member of Highland Baptist Church, a man of great faith, loved serving his Lord and witnessing to others about Jesus Christ.
He also enjoyed camping, hunting and spending time with family.
