Richard Earl Hahn, 57, of Oakboro passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. His funeral service will be at 2PM on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Red Cross Baptist Church. Pastor Jesse Herring, Rev. Kinney Wallace, and Rev. David Cochran will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30-2PM prior to the service in the sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ricky was born January 23, 1964 in Union county to Viola Hahn Smith and the late Earl Watson Hahn. He owned and operated R & R Backhoe Service for 20 years. Ricky was a hard worker, and he loved his job where he was able to always be outside. In his time away from work, Ricky loved to spend time with his grandchildren; they were the center of his world. When Ricky was home, he spent a lot of time out in his shop with his friends and loved ones and his faithful dog companion, Major. Despite his health struggles, he never complained and was always willing to help everyone else first. He had a servant’s heart and loved the Lord. He will truly be missed by many.
Mr. Hahn is survived by his wife of 38 years Sandra Burleson Hahn: daughters: Jamie Hahn Cochran (David) of Locust, Haley Breann Hahn of Locust; grandchildren: Cameron David Cochran, Caroline Ann Cochran, Cole Richard Cochran; mother: Viola Hahn Smith of Polkton; brothers: Roger Hahn and Todd Hahn both of Locust; and sister: Pam Parker of Polkton. He is preceded in death by his father Earl Watson Hahn and his sister Kay Hahn Caulder.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Hahn family.
