Rev. Archie C. Pope's Obituary
Reverend Archie C. Pope, age 79, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Phil McLean, Reverend Ken Kistler, and Mr. Tony Funderburk. Interment will follow in Griffin Family Cemetery.
Rev. Pope was born on August 5, 1934, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of Archie Thomas Pope and Dora Jean Griffin Pope. He was a farmer and minister. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Curtis Pope, and a sister, Rachael Starnes.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Evans Pope of the home; two sons, Phillip Pope of Monroe, Joseph Pope of Richmond, Virginia; one daughter, Donna Faye Brock and husband, Barry, of Pageland; four grandchildren, Rebecca Pope and William Pope, both of Richmond, Jamie Pope and Becky Pope, both of Texas; one brother, Frank Pope and wife, Wadine, of Monroe; four sisters, Frances Parker, Hallie Howell, Shirley Edwards, and Doraetta Guin, all of Monroe.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM at Mountain Springs Baptist Church.
