Rebecca Staton Laton's Obituary
Rebecca Staton Laton, 73, of Albemarle passed away April 19, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Friday, April 23, 2021 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stoney Benfield officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 PM prior to the hour of the service.
Rebecca was born Oct. 11, 1947 in Wadesboro, NC to Curtis and Margaret Hutchins Staton. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church and a resident of Spring Arbor for many years. She was a dedicated housewife who made it her mission to make her house a loving home. She was always considered “super mom” and far exceeded all expectations of what a mother should be. She was a perfect example of a Christian woman, wife and mother. Rebecca had a personal relationship with the Lord and has spent many, many hours studying her Bible, praying for others and sharing her faith to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Rayvon Laton. She is survived by her son Rick Laton and wife Julie of Norwood, daughter Ami Perry and husband Jeff of Tampa, FL, sister Annette Redwine of Raleigh, grandchildren: Hailey Smith and husband Luke, Ryan Laton and wife Celeste, Caroline Perry, Jake Perry, Katie Perry, Nick Perry and Natalie Perry, and great-grandson Branson Forrest.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
