Randy Carl Lovgren's Obituary
Randy was born in Mineola, Long Island, NY to Carl and Carol Lovgren. He grew up in Levittown, Long Island, NY. Graduated from Division Avenue High School class of 1969. Randy graduated from Paul Smith’s College in NY with a degree in Forestry and Surveying. He lived most of his adult life in New Jersey, but retired in Albemarle, NC.
Randy is survived by his wife Ruth Lovgren for whom he has been married for 51 years; daughters Lisa Lovgren Walls and Samantha Lovgren; grandchildren Jonathan and Amanda Walls; twin sister Rhonda Marrone, and younger sister Darcy Lovgren Pavich.
Randy had several interests and jobs. He worked as a surveyor, an auto mechanic, teacher of auto mechanics, and teacher of computer systems, networking, and programming. He was an active part of many groups and organizations such as a Robotics Coach, Skills USA vocational competition, his local school board for 12 years, leader for his teacher’s union, a volunteer with NJ Fish and Game Law Enforcement, Oasis Shrine, and a proud member of the Free and Accepted Mason’s at Lodge #93 and #348. He is a new member of the Bethany UMC.
Randy passed away at home with his family. Visitation and viewing will be Sunday, October 8, 2023, 4pm-6pm and a Service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, 10am at Stanly Funeral Home, 1835 Badin Rd., Albemarle, NC 28001. Burial directly following the service at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 E. Main St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
