Rachel Robertson Holt's Obituary
Rachel Robertson Holt, 89, of Albemarle, passed away
Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Bethany Woods and Nursing Rehab. Her funeral
service will be 4 Pm Sunday August 25, 2019 at the Albemarle Wesleyan Church
with Rev. James Valk officiating. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of
Memory. The family will receive friends from 3 Pm until 4 Pm prior to the
service.
Rachel was born November 12,1929 in Stanly County, NC and
was the daughter of the late Joseph Hugh Robertson and Hulda Mae Hutchins Robertson.
Mrs. Holt was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mill Company and she formerly
worked with Belk in Albemarle. She was a member of Albemarle Wesleyan Church
where she was a former Church Treasurer. Rachel was well known for her Cherry Pound
Cake and cup cakes.
Mrs. Holt is survived by her husband Grover Cleveland Holt
of the home. She is also survived by a son John David Holt and wife Wanda of
Albemarle; a brother Joe Robertson; two grandchildren, Stephanie Holt Harris
and Bradley David Holt both of Raleigh, NC and two great-grandchildren, Paisley
and Daxton Harris. Rachel is also preceded in death two brothers, Dewey
Robertson and Manco Robertson and two sisters, Minnie Helms and Emma Morton and
three half brothers, Stan Robertson, Jim Robertson and Jessee Robertson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Albemarle
Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 33217 Mann Road, Albemarle, NC 28001 or Hospice
of Stanly and Uwharrie, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
