Price Austin Efird, 92, of Albemarle passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 in his home.? His funeral service will be 4 PM Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Mabry officiating.? Burial will follow in the Canton Baptist Church Cemetery.? The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3 until 4 prior to the hour of the service.
Born April 21, 1923 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Glenn Thomas Efird and Dellie Burleson Efird and was a farmer.? Mr. Efird was a member of Canton Baptist Church and a Veteran of the US Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hallie Lowder Efird on January 21, 2013.? Survivors include son Joe Efird and wife Karen of Albemarle, daughter Dolores Talbert and husband Wayne of Albemarle, grandson Michael Furr and wife Tanya, and great-grandchildren Matthew Furr and Emma Furr.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC or to Canton Baptist Church, 24615 Endy Road, Albemarle, NC 28001.
