On Sunday, January 3rd, 2021 Phyllis Turnage Furr, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at the age of 63. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 8th 2021 at 2pm at Stanly Funeral Home in Albemarle. Visitation will follow the service. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, please practice social distancing and wear a mask or other face covering.Born in Killeen, Texas in 1957, Phyllis is the daughter to Vernon and Nell (Brown) Turnage of Linden, NC. Phyllis later received her Associates degree in Information Technologies from Stanly Community College and was an employee of Fed Ex. Phyllis was passionate about her family and friends, motorcycles, and her beloved felines. She was known for her quick wit, infectious smile, and compassionate heart. She had a special gift with flowers and could often be found gardening outside her home.Along with her mother, Nell, she is survived by her husband Lane Furr, of Stanfield; her son, Christopher Hart; her daughters, Kristi (Justin) Eudy of Stanfield, NC and Brooke (David) Brown of Troy, NC; her sister, Pam (Gary) Pitman of Calabash, NC; her brother, Charles (Mary) Turnage of Linden, NC; and 9 grandchildren.She is proceeded in death by her father, Vernon Turnage.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of Stanly County.
